So in the last post, which was all about Jonathan Budds new course The Unstoppable Entrepreneur and my Bonus, I talked about how in the year 2011, if you wanna do well in these affiliate contests and get recognition, you’ve got to offer your own bonus.  You’ve got to give people a reason to want to buy through your affiliate link.

For example… I am promoting Jonathans course ‘The Unstoppable Entrepreneur‘ and you can see my bonus package here:

I recommend you study that page- it’s a simple wordpress site, that cost $12 for the domain, and about $50 to have installed and put up.  I already had hosting.

But it will probably make me an easy $5000.

I don’t say that to brag…just to tell you that while everyone makes affiliate marketing out to be really hard… it’s not.

You just need to build a list- build a relationship to that list, and market to that list.

Eg. Here’s the email I sent out to my list to let them know about Unstoppable Entrepreneur:

And you know what the funny thing is?  I ‘borrowed’ that email from a talented marketer named Daegan Smith- he had sent it to his list, which I’m on, just moments before.

Of course… I changed a few things around so I wasn’t completely plagurizing (spelling?), but it doesn’t take long to get an email out to your list.

The next thing you need to do… as the launch approaches the sales period (which usually lasts for a week) you want to start promoting your bonus.  You want people to understand very clearly that you’re offering an incentive if they buy through your link- but it must be through your link.

And if they’ve opted in to someone else’s affiliate link, then they will need to clear their cookies, so you get the credit.  I usually include a link to a page where they can get instructions on doing that.

One way to really boost sales… is to offer an incentive for those who take action and buy first.  You call them fast action bonus’s.  For my Unstoppable Entrepreneurs Bonus, I’ll probably offer a free ipad to the first person to buy…or something like that.

And possibly 1 hours worth of personal 1-on-1 consulting to the first 5 people.  I haven’t decided yet.

And of course… if you are going to promote something, it needs to be something you are personally buying or something you believe in.

For example, if I wasn’t planning on attending the Unstoppable Entrepreneur event myself, then I would have a tough time trying to get other people to buy it and go.

Why should they when I won’t?

So that’s why I’ve made the committment to attend the event and show up.  It’s a big deal, when you have to go and book plane tickets, book hotels etc.  But like I said… if you are promoting an event, it helps if you’re leading by example.

The other think I like to do, is during the sales period, is to hold a webinar.

When  Unstoppable Entrepreneur goes on sale… you can bet I’ll be holding several webinars and promoting the course and what it’s about.  Of course… you don’t want to have just a sales pitch- you’ve got to offer some good content, otherwise people won’t show up on your future webinars.

But webinars have got to be one of the best sales tools we as internet marketers have at our disposal.

So that’s about it.

If you are promoting Unstoppable Entrepreneur… then good luck to you.  Try to get your bonus package together as soon as you can, and make sure people know about it.

If you can get in the top 20 of all affiliates… then you now have a story.

And you can use that story in future marketing- it gives you instant credibility in your marketplace.
